CARVING HUMAN FIGURES IS A
CHALLENGE FOR MOST
Sculpting the human anatomy is a challenge for many ice carvers and when 14-time World Champion, Steve Brice partnered by former US Champion, Aaron Costic, held a four day intensive course of instruction at the Iceculture facility in Hensall, classes sold out quickly.
Steve was on the second leg of an instruction tour and came straight up from Columbus, OH where he ran two, three day courses at the Elegant Ice plant operated by NICA President, Greg Butauski. In Canada, the three day courses were condensed into two long days, a format that many participants preferred.
Carvers came from all around Ontario, Quebec and the US. The hands-on workshops ran from 8 am until 8.30 pm every day and participants didn't leave the building, with breakfasts, lunches and dinners being provided in the plant.
Steve is recognized as the best in the world at carving the human anatomy and the detail he includes in faces, hands and body designs is unmatched. He is a regular competitor in the World Ice Carving Championships in Alaska.
